  1. I agree, with you counselor; the younger generation needs to take heed to their elder’s wisdom. And it’s not so much that we are trying to control their lives or dictate their every move. Nonetheless, as their grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, guardians, elders we want to encourage and prevent them from making the mistakes that we made. And for them to be better than us. However, in today’s society, day and age, I see a lot of adults, parents, guardians in this new world, jokingly, playing friends with their young and adult children. And this opens the door for disrespect, allowing them to not only disrespect them, but speak to them as if they are on the same level.

This also opens the door for the young generation to be disrespectful toward all elders. I have seen young folks call their parents by their first name, which is very disrespectful! I have also some of the youngster’s curse and label their parents, grandparents, and their elders in general, with vile and vulgar names. I have seen mental and physical abuse towards elders. I have also had some of these experiences, in life myself, from the younger generation. And it is only going to get worse, if the elders do not get control of it before it goes any further.

It starts at home! Take control of it while you can before it is too late!

    Let’s talk about it!
